Actions by YJA Star kill one Turkish soldier, wounds another in South Kurdistan

The Turkish occupation forces in South Kurdistan are still being targeted by the women's guerrillas of the YJA Star. One soldier was killed and another injured.

The Press Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) issued a statement about the war in the Medya Defense Areas. According to the statement, the guerrilla resistance against the Turkish invasion forces in South Kurdistan continues. The HPG provided the following details:

"Guerrilla resistance in Zap and Metîna

Guerrillas from the Free Women’s Units (YJA Star) killed a Turkish army soldier in the Girê Amêdî area on Monday and injured another soldier on Tuesday. In Serê Metîna, a surveillance camera installed by the Turkish army was destroyed by a guerrilla on Tuesday.

On the western front of the Zap region, there have also been several attacks by the guerrillas with heavy and light weapons on Turkish occupiers in the Girê Bahar and Girê Cûdî areas in recent days.

Attacks by the Turkish army

The Turkish army continues to use prohibited explosives against guerrilla tunnels. The HPG has recorded twelve operations against tunnel systems in Girê FM, Girê Amêdî and Şêlazê since the weekend.

Turkish fighter jets have carried out 25 air strikes in the Xakurke, Gare, Metîna and Zap regions since 21 December. The resistance area of ​​Girê Bahar was bombed 13 times by attack helicopters on Tuesday."
