Attacks of the AKP government against HDP continue increasingly one day prior to the general election. The detention wave police forces have intensely carried out in the Kurdish region in the last days also continued this morning, in which 9 more people were taken into custody in Bitlis province and Tatvan district.
Anti-terror teams and special operation units raided many houses early this morning at the city centre of Bitlis, detaining DBP executive Mesut Güngördü and three others, Mehmet İşlek, Ali Ayaz and Ahmet Pirav on alleged grounds of “aiding a terrorist organisation”.
Police forces also conducted simultaneous raids in many houses in Tatvan and detained 5 youths on grounds of “seeking action” and “involvement in the youth organisation of the KCK”. It has been reported that police also seized books, election leaflets and the computers in houses raided in the operation.
9 detainees have been taken to the police headquarters in Bitlis.
