8 villages and 4 hamlets liberated in Aliya region of Til Temir

YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) carried out an offensive against gang groups upon the demand of local people in Aliya region between Serêkaniyê and Til Temir last night.

YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) have liberated 8 villages and 4 hamlets in an offensive against ISIS gangs in Aliya region to the northwest of Til Temir.

According to a report by Hawar News Agency (ANHA) Defense Units carried out an offensive against gang groups upon the demand of local people in Aliya region between Serêkaniyê and Til Temir last night.

Fierce clashes that erupted in the region following the offensive which started at 1 am local time, lasted till early this morning. The fighting ended up with the liberation of Elmaha, Dişo, Siraç, Hela, Behama, Effan, Keşke and Gişat villages, Rezazê hill and 4 hamlets.

A number of gang members were killed and bodies of 5 were seized by YPG/YPJ in the offensive during which a military vehicle and a car with a DShK (Dushka) anti-aircraft machine gun installed on it were also destroyed.

On the other hand, coalition aircraft also carried out strikes against the ISIS emplacements in the region last night.
