67 days of embargo in Maxmur and 22 days of Peace Mothers' sit-in

The embargo imposed on Martyr Rüstem Cudi (Maxmur) Refugee Camp has been going on for 67 days. The Peace Mothers of Maxmur, in the meantime, have been sitting in front of the KDP public order forces checkpoint for 22 days demanding to lift the embargo.

On July 17 in Hewlêr, 3 people died as a result of an attack to a restaurant targeting Turkish consulate employees.

Martyr Rüstem Cudi (Maxmur) Refugee Camp has been under heavy embargo for 67 days since the attack.

Maxmur Peace Mothers have started their sit-in protest in front of the KDP public order forces checkpoint on September 1, World Peace Day, demanding the lifting of the embargo.

The security forces at the checkpoint do not allow mothers to receive visitors.
