13 detained in Amed for campaigning for HDP

The number of those detained in Amed today for involvement in campaign for the HDP ahead of June 24 elections, rose to 13.

The AKP-MHP regime has accelerated political genocide practices against the Kurdish people and the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) who will be playing a critical role in their defeat.

In Amed’s central Baglar district, HDP members who are responsible for campaigning had their homes raided by the police this morning. DBP (Democratic Regions’ Party) Baglar District Co-chair Hasret Akay, Bagcilar Election Bureau Officer Sinan Doğan, Saadettin Akay, Yasin Biet, Arzu Karaman, Özlem Noyan, Hacer Yaşar, Hasan Al, mentally disabled Tarık Günden and four other people were detained in the raids.

The detainees are kept waiting at the provincial security directorate.
