Political activist Parivash Moslemi, who is being held in Iran’s Evin Prison, went on hunger strike to protest the conditions in prison and the denial of emergency medical care.

Despite Moslemi's deteriorating health condition, she has been denied access to emergency medical care and treatment outside the prison. Moslemi also requested to be treated several times, but her requests have been denied by Evin Prison authorities.

According to JINHA news, Parivash Moslemi was detained by Iranian police in the city of Noor in April 2024 and released three days later. She was subsequently tried in court on charges of "anti-state propaganda, humiliating Khomeini and Khamenei, and conspiracy" and sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison.

Moslemi was arrested on 7 July 2024, and transferred to the women's wing of Evin Prison. She was previously arrested in September 2023, coinciding with the anniversary of Jina Mahsa Amini's death. She was released on bail from Qarchak Prison in Varamin after serving a month in prison.
