The YPG internationalist fighter Dilsoz Bahar (Kevin Joachim) was commemorated at his grave on the anniversary of his death.
Dilsoz Bahar (Kevin Joachim), known for his heroic resistance against ISIS’s brutal attacks, played an important role in liberating villages and settlements under ISIS occupation as part of the Commander Rubar Qamishlo Campaign. However, on 6 July 2015, he fell martyr in clashes in the village of Şergirat near the town of Silûk in Rojava.
On Sunday, many internationalist families and people from Kurdistan attended the memorial ceremony held at his grave in Friedhof Grünwinkel Cemetery in Karlsruhe.
Among those present were Valerie Carder, the mother of Canadian YPG fighter martyr Gabar Rojava (John Robert Gallagher); Michele Harding, the mother of Austrian YPG fighter martyr Bagok Serhed (Reece Harding); Patricia Gregorini, the mother of Argentinian YPG fighter martyr Legerîn Çiya (Alina Sanchez); the brother of German HPG fighter martyr Azad Serger (Thomas Spiess); and the grandmother of YPG fighter martyr Dilsoz Bahar (Kevin Joachim).
During the ceremony, internationalists and people from Kurdistan sang Kurdish and German songs at the graveside to honor Dilsoz Bahar.
In their speeches, the families underlined the importance of solidarity and the value of the internationalist struggle.
