Iranian and Iraqi officials discuss the PKK disaramement during meeting in Moscow

Iraqi National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji, and Iranian National Security Council Secretary Ali Akbar Ahmedian discussed the PKK's decision to disband during their meeting in Russia.

At a meeting on the sidelines of the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues in Moscow on Tuesday, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian and Iraq’s National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji reviewed a bilateral security pact and discussed the PKK disarmament.

During the meeting, the security pact between the two countries and the stages of its implementation were discussed.

The parties also discussed the PKK's decision to disband, and its impact on the two countries, as well as strategic issues such as the follow-up to the joint security agreement between the two countries.

The discussions also focused on the security situation in Syria, with both countries expressing support for Syria's stability and territorial integrity.
