FLNC reorganizing in Corsica

The National Liberation Movement of Corsica ended the armed struggle for the separation of Corsica from France in 2014. Now the group announced their reorganization and campaign against selling land to overseas investors.

The National Liberation Front of Corsica (FLNC - Front de libération nationale corse) has announced its reorganization.

In a video, the group announced, "We Corsican patriots have gathered to rebuild the FLNC."

The movement emphasized its commitment to the 1976 founding manifesto and vowed that they would never harm people pursuant to the historic commitment of the FLNC. Accordingly, the group will be targeting only properties.

The prohibitions announced by the group include the sale of land and real estate to non-Corsican investors.

The declaration addresses the problem of land speculation and emphasizes that real estate purchased by foreigners over the past ten years is to be resold at the same price and given only to the local people of Corsica or Corsican collectives.

The group also calls for a ban on the construction of new shopping malls, as well as for one hour of native-language education from kindergarten to elementary education and employment of Corsican natives instead of foreign employees.

The group says they will resort to violence if necessary in order to implement these bans and references which it described as “the only way to emancipate the people of Corsica”.

The declaration ends with the slogan "Victory or death".

The FLNC ended its armed struggle and laid down arms in 2014 after 40 years and over 4,500 actions. French special prosecutor in charge of terror cases has taken over the investigation.
