Turkey sentences journalists to prison for solidarity action

After Turkish authorities shut down Ozgur Gundem; Aykol, Duzkan, Celebi, Bektas and Duran worked at the news desk as editor in chief for one day.
Istanbul 13th Criminal Court sentenced Huseyin Aykol to three years and nine months and other four journalists to one year and six months in prison each for “making propaganda for a terrorist organization”.
