Operation against journalists still going on
The operation against Kurdish and opposition journalists and media workers is still going on. After the mass detention on Tuesday, last night and this morning other journalists have been taken into custody.
In Hakkari police detained DIHA News Agency journalist Nilgün Yýldýz and worker of Democratic Modernity Magazine, Selahattin Aslan. These latest arrests bring the number of detained journalists and media workers to 46.
It is understood that both Yýldýz and Aslan will be taken to Istanbul.
Tomorrow the detained journalists are to be taken to court.
Raids and searches were carried out on Tuesday at several media outlets and private houses. The operation targeted journalists and media workers from DÝHA News Agency, ANF, Özgür Gündem daily paper, Etik Agency, Gün Matbaasý, Demokratik Modernite Magazine, Bir Gün.
