Latest situation in Gaza and Lebanon

While the death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 42,000 since 7 October, the Israeli army reported the killing of 15 Hezbollah members in Lebanon and 3 Hamas officials in Gaza. An Iranian military counsellor was killed in Damascus.

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll in the Palestinian territory has risen to 41,788 since the start of the war with Israel almost a year ago.

The ministry said in a statement that at least 99 people have been killed and 96,794 people injured in the last 24 hours.

ISRAEL: THREE SENIOR HAMAS LEADERS KILLED IN GAZA THREE MONTHS AGO

The Israeli army announced that three senior Hamas officials were killed three months ago. The joint army and intelligence attack killed Ruhi Mashtaha, the head of the Hamas government in the Gaza Strip; Sameh Alsarj, the head of security and finance in Hamas’ political bureau and executive committee; and Sami Odeh, the commander of Hamas’ general security apparatus.

‘These three senior Hamas leaders were hiding in the Gaza Strip,’ the Israeli military said in a statement on X.

IRANIAN MILITARY ADVISER KILLED IN DAMASCUS

An adviser to Iran's Revolutionary Guards has died of injuries he suffered in an Israeli airstrike on the Syrian capital Damascus on Monday, Reuters reported. The Iranian Student News Network identified the adviser as Majid Divan but provided no further details.

Damascus government media reported on Tuesday that three civilians were killed and nine others injured in an Israeli airstrike on Damascus.

AT LEAST 9 DEAD IN BEIRUT

At least 9 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Bashoura area in central Beirut on the night between Wednesday and Thursday. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that 14 people were wounded, ‘four of whom are still being treated in hospitals and ten of whom are returning home’.

15 HEZBOLLAH MEMBERS KILLED IN WEDNESDAY'S ATTACK

On Wednesday night, Israeli Air Force warplanes targeted a Hezbollah building in the Bint Jabal district in southern Lebanon.

According to the Israeli military, the ‘targeted’ attack was aimed at destroying ‘weapons stored in the building’ and ‘used by the organisation’. The statement claimed that 15 Hezbollah fighters were killed.

AL-SHIMBULLAH: THE ADVANCE OF THE ISRAELI ARMY WAS REPELLED

Hezbollah issued a statement on Thursday claiming that it had repelled an Israeli attempt to advance along the border in southern Lebanon, where it said the Israeli army was conducting limited and localised operations.

Hezbollah said it had ‘repelled with artillery fire an attempt by hostile Israeli forces to advance towards the Fatima Gate’ on the concrete and wire wall along the border between Israel and Lebanon.

EVACUATION NOTICE FOR RESIDENTS OF 25 DISTRICTS IN LEBANON

Shortly before 13:00, the Israeli army sent new evacuation notices to residents of 25 settlements in southern Lebanon, asking them to move north of the Avali River, north of Sidon.
