Journalist Selamet Turan, who was taken into custody in Cizre (Cizîr), in the province of Şirnak on 9 February, was brought to Amed and her statement was taken 4 days later.

Journalist Turan was referred to the Criminal Court of Peace on Duty, after being questioned by the prosecutor's office, with a request for arrest on the allegation of "being a member of an illegal organization".

The court decided to send the journalist to prison on Monday.
