Turkish Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) has banned access to the website of Rojeva Medya, the only daily published in Kurdish in Turkey.

BTK did not disclose why the ban has been imposed or how long it will last. The related statement of BTK says:

“As a result of technical inquiry and legal evaluation within the scope of the Law no 5651, this website (rojavamedya.com) has been put under ADMINISTRATIVE MEASURE by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority in accordance with the Authority's 11/05/2017 dated decision no 490.05.01.2017.-205371.”
