YPG (People's Defense Units) Spokesperson Nuri Mahmoud commented for ANF on the anti-ISIS alliance of the US and Coalition Forces, the compromising approach of Russia, and the developments in Azaz, Jarablus, Idlib, Efrîn and Shehba region that the Turkish state seeks to invade through FSA groups.

YPG Spokesperson Nuri Mahmoud pointed out the following:

“It is the ISIS and their patrons that legitimize the crisis and lasting invasion in Syria. Since 2012 gang groups have made attempts to choke the peoples of Rojava. The resistance our forces mounted in Kobanê has been seen clearly. While it was intended to destroy the future of peoples in Northern Syria, the human history of honour and resurrection was rewritten through the splendid resistance of our forces in Rojava and Kobanê. Each and every city in Rojava resistance has witnessed a war. The resistance led by the Kurds and mounted in their person is the freedom process of Syrian peoples. We are resisting based on the security of the peoples in Syria. The resistance mounted against ISIS gangs is not based on interests. We are fighting based on the peoples' freedom principles, cultures and faiths, and we are responding to the attacks in the context of legitimate self defence.

If the YPG had not resisted in Syria, the Turkish state would have made ISIS gangs reign in Syria, and made barbarity, destruction and genocide prevail over peoples. The military campaigns in Rojava and our advance up to Raqqa is the guarantee of Syria's security and safety. The Turkish state sees the ISIS gangs being through a weak process. Syrian Democratic Forces are acting based on the security of Êzidîs, Arabs, peoples and communities in Syria. The ISIS getting defeated in Raqqa is frustrating the Turkish state's plans on Syria. Hundreds of women and children are being rescued from ISIS gangs in Raqqa every day. These are great successes of the YPG and SDF forces whose primary mission is to defend the peoples.

The struggle for the democratization of Syria and the peoples' defense force must be present everywhere. The resistance mounted in Raqqa is breaking the backbone of ISIS. The YPG will maintain its stance and resume its blows against terror. Our cooperation with the US and the International Coalition Forces continues. It is a must to fight against the ISIS menace in Syria and the international arena, and to strengthen alliances to this end. The Turkish state wants to develop a new invasion plan on Efrîn and Shehba region through FSA groups. We will not allow a further attack and military disparching to Efrîn and Shehba. The Turkish state does not want us to liberate the Raqqa city and it wants to obstruct and sabotage it.

As a fierce battle and resistance in Raqqa center continues, the Syrian regime should also base on the peoples' freedom principles. It is a must to finish off this ISIS terror that became a menace to the world and to enhance the struggle.

The Turkish state has failed to pursue its plans on Syria according to itself. It was the Kurds and YPG to inflict the first blow on ISIS and FSA. In Raqqa thousands of Arab youths are resisting. Within the SDF are also the Revolutionary Forces embedded.

Should there be an aggression on Efrîn and Shehba, this will also have repercussions on the Raqqa operation. The Turkish state is not for the alliance of the US and SDF forces. Erdoğan is constantly targeting the Kurds and YPG forces and in order to spread a deep hatred and wrath. More blows are being inflicted on the ISIS for the defense of Syria and the peoples' demand for freedom.”
