Eight Kurdish construction workers from Kaðýzman district of Kars were attacked by their fellow workers for speaking their mother tongue Kurdish with each other in the Beþikdüzü district of Trabzon.
According to the information received, eight plaster workers were speaking Kurdish to each other during the work when a worker from Trabzon asked "Why are you speaking Kurdish?" which generated a discussion. The argument among construction workers got tensed up with sticks and irons. Muzaffer Boztaþ was humbled and Recep Boztaþ’s head was hurt in the quarrel while one other worker from the same family got wounded. Three workers from Trabzon got injured, one is reported to be in serious condition.
Kurdish workers were taken into custody with police intervention after the incident and taken to court today. Muzaffer Boztaþ, Recep Boztaþ, Cemil Boztaþ, Ercan Boztaþ and four other unnamed Kurdish workers who had come from Ankara to Beylikdüzü for work about two months ago were sent to prison by the court they were eferred to.
