Family Gözlemecioğlu living in Turkish capital Ankara told that their son was deceived and taken to Syria to join ISIS by members of the Turkish intelligence agency (MIT) one year ago. The family said they have learned that their son is fighting against YPG/YPJ in Kobanê, and asked for help from YPG/YPJ and Kobanê Canton administration.

It has emerged that Halil İbrahim Gözlemecioğlu, who used to live in Hacıbayram neighborhood of Ankara was deceived by supposed MIT members and taken to Syria where he joined the inhumane ISIS gangs. The family stated that they lost contact with their son after the eruption of heavy clashes in Kobanê.

Mother Erik and father Eyüp Gözlemecioğlu who spoke to ANF told that MIT members got in touch with their son one year ago, and that a number of other youths in Ankara fell into the ISIS trap of in the same way.

“After a while, we learned that İbrahim had been taken to join the ISIS. Our children were deceived and taken there by the people using their religious feelings. The only thing we ask from Turkish officials, and from YPG/YPJ and Kobanê Canton administration to inform us about our son, whether he is dead or alive. We have no contact with out son for 5 months now since MIT members took him to fight the Assad regime. However, we learned later that he was fighting with the ISIS against YPG in Kobanê. We applied to all authorities in Turkey but were able to receive no result. We will not give up efforts in order for the disclosure of those who sent our son there. We also want to get in touch with the Kobanê administration and ask them to return our son to us if they have him, either dead or alive. Should we fail to obtain any result, we will ask for help from HDP deputies to bring those who deceived our son and made him join ISIS to account.”

Family Gözlemecioğlu said they were from a social democrat tradition and would never send their son to join the ISIS.

The family added that their son was alive and was taken captive around Til Abyad (Girê Sipî) five months ago, according to the information they received through others.
