Co-mayor of Mardin's Nusaybin district said that state forces don't hand over the bodies of 4 civilians killed during the curfew which is ongoing in its 12th day.

Co-mayor of Mardin's Nusaybin district said that state forces don't hand over the bodies of 4 civilians killed during the curfew which is ongoing in its 12th day.

'FOUR SLAIN CIVILIANS HELD IN MORGUE'

Speaking to ANF today, co-mayor Cengiz Kök said the bodies of 4 civilians have been seized by a special unit working for the Palace. Remarking that families of the slain civilians are still waiting to reclaim the bodies of their beloved ones, Kök called for an immediate end to this “inhuman treatment”.

Kök said the bodies are of Musur Aslan, Hasan Dal, Şerif Alpar and Nurhan Kaplan; three of which are being held in the morgue of Mardin State Hospital and one at Kızıltepe State Hospital.

'THIS IS A TRAGEDY'

Pointing out that families of the victims are suffering a greater pain now as they are still waiting to take the bodies, Kök said many other people who have come to Nusaybin for funerals are being held outside the district and not allowed access inside.

Co-mayor emphasised that; "This inhuman treatment in addition to the already existing unlawful state has turned the situation into a total tragedy. What we are being through is not easy to tolerate. They are killing our people, and furthermore denying us permission to lay them to rest."

'FAMILIES REBEL AGAINST THE SITUATION'

Nusaybin co-mayor said bodies of the 4 civilians are being held by state forces for at least 7 days now, saying; "Which crime against humanity does this count? The grief of families is growing every day. Funerals must take place in the soonest time as families rebel and cannot tolerate the situation anymore."

'THERE IS NO ONE TO ADDRESS OUR REMARKS TO'

Kök remarked that they cannot find anyone to address their remarks to for the burial of civilians, adding; "Those who have attacked and killed Nusaybin people by trampling on all human values for 12 days, are not in view at the moment. District governor, who is the only one we have managed to reach, has no authority or influence on the situation, and he himself confesses this truth."

'BODIES HELD BY A SPECIAL UNIT AFFILIATED TO THE PALACE'

Co-mayor stressed that the current state of affairs in Nusaybin goes beyond the authority of the district governor and head official as the offensive is being conducted by a special unit sent from the Palace on an utterly unlawful basis.

Kök ended by calling for an immediate end to this inhuman treatment and crime against humanity.
