Confederation of Public Laborer's Unions (KESK) has announced a general strike to be staged on 23 May as a protest against the government’s most recent 3+3 raise proposal for public officers.
The collective bargaining between public workers confederation and the Minister of Labor and Social Security Faruk Çelik ended up with the government’s 3+3 raise proposal for public officers. KESK, before the meetings with the Minister took place, had announced that it would go on a general strike on 21-25 May in the event of rejection of its proposal concerning Collective Bargaining.
The KESK statement on the subject evaluated the government’s proposal as “playing a trick on public laborers” and called on all other confederations to join the strike on 23 May.
