The Italian delegation to the trial of 151 Kurdish politicians and activists will be allowed in the Court tomorrow. Today the delegation has been quite busy outside for the opening of the trial which is a turning point in the Kurdish question as it has been pointed out.
One of the member of the delegation, Antonello Pabis, says that the day has began at 8 am, when the delegation moved towards the Court. "The Court - says Pabis - was guarded by several policemen and soldiers, all wearing antiriot gears. Around a thousand people are already waiting outside, and many tried to enter the Court but are pushed back by the police and army".
The Italian observers will be allowed in Court tomorrow. "We saw the buses carrying the prisoners - says Pabis - we cannot see them, but we can see their hands in the V for victory and resistance. There are many Kurdish politicians - continues Pabis - including the former European MP Feleknas Uca". Former MP Leyla Zana is also present: she arrives to the Court with the mayor of Diyarbakir, Osman Baydemir.
Both inside and outside hundreds of people are gathering. Slogans start to get chanted, and this, says Pabis "is not appreciated by the police. Indeed the policemen in full antiriot gear start coming towards the crowd, and they don't seem to have the best of the intentions". The delegation then decides to get in between the demonstrators and the policemen. "We have a banner - says Pabis - which says 'freedom for everybody" and we open it towards the policemen. A discussion began, - adds Pabis - with the policemen telling us to go back. We don't, we say we are there to make a call for peace". In the end it is the police which go back. It's a short-timed victory, because the police again ask everybody to clear the road. "We decided to move - says Pabis - but the a car comes speeding by and nearly knocking down some demonstrators. The car must then stop at the traffic light and a crowd of around hundred people reached it. The car finally speed off - says Pabis - but not without some damages".
Tormorrow the Italian delegation should be allowed in the Court.
