HDP MP Fırat declares the probable replacement for Davutoğlu

HDP Mersin MP Dengir Mir Mehmet Fırat assessed the crisis growing inside AKP and said, “His time is up. Davutoğlu is a political ghost. Mr. Son-In-Law or Binali Yıldırım will take his place.”

In the central executive committee meeting in April 29, the authority to appoint provincial and district administration was taken from Ahmet Davutoğlu and given to the committee. The transfer of authority was the latest example of the conflict between President Erdoğan and Davutoğlu.

One of the founding members of the AKP, HDP’s Mersin MP Dengir Mir Mehmet Fırat assessed the developments starting with the transfer of authority for ANF.

Fırat claimed Davutoğlu will be removed from party leadership and said, “Mr. Davutoğlu has lost the leadership. In fact, he should be leaving. Because there is a direct and serious attack on his person. Unfortunately he did not resign. Because something like that has never happened in any political party, not just AKP. No party leader has had authority stripped away like this. This means they don’t trust him as a party. But unfortunately, pushfulness is the coin of the realm today.”

'DAVUTOĞLU IS A POLITICAL GHOST'

Fırat stressed that Davutoğlu should have left his position the moment this decision was taken and said, “I believe he should have resigned like an honorable person would the moment the CEC took that decision. In any other case, he is a political ghost in the coming process in my opinion.”

'THE SON-IN-LAW WILL REPLACE DAVUTOĞLU PROBABLY'

ANF asked Fırat what will happen next in the AKP and he answered, “Probably Mr. Son-In-Law (Berat Albayrak) will replace Davutoğlu. It may be postponed for a while, but that is what is going to happen. Either him or Mr. Binali Yıldırım. One of the two will be appointed.”

Stating that he does not expect any other changes in the AKP, Fırat said “Because Tayyip Erdoğan equals AKP”.

'IMMUNITIES WILL CERTAINLY BE LIFTED'

Regarding the parliamentary immunity issue, HDP Mersin MP Dengir Mir Mehmet Fırat said “They will certainly lift them.”
