Hüsnü Yýldýz was on hunger strike for 66 days last summer in the main square in Dersim. He was asking the recovering of his brother's remains in a mass grave in Çemiþgezek. ANF English was there the day when finally the grave was opened. It was a frantic day, as the place the magistrate ordered to excavate turned out, after hours of work, no to be the right place. Indeed there were so many bodies buried in that piece of land above a beautiful scenery.
It took several months for Hüsnü Yýldýz to finally have to certainty that among the remains of many guerrillas were those of his brother Ali too.
The body of Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) member Neþirvan Yasinoðlu had been identified and delivered to his family last Wednesday, while the remains of Ali Yýldýz where identified and delivered to his family on Thursday. DNA test have been carried out by the Istanbul Forensic Medical Institute.
On April 1997 PKK guerrillas and Turkish Army clashed and as a result of the clash 23 guerrillas lost their life and were summarily buried in a mass grave in Çemiþgezek Gendarmerie Command's yard.
When the judge first order the excavation of the area, in July 2011, fourteen bodies were found.
