‘Syrian Initiative for Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s Freedom' opens branch in Kobanê

A branch of the 'Syrian Initiative for Leader Abdullah Öcalan's Freedom’ has been opened in Kobanê city to spread Öcalan's ideas among society and to expand the struggle for his freedom.

A branch of the ‘Syrian Initiative for Leader Abdullah Öcalan's Freedom’ has been opened in Kobanê city in the Euphrates Canton of North-East Syria.

In addition to many citizens, officials from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and representatives of women's organizations attended the opening ceremony on Sunday.


Speaking at the ceremony, Ayşe Efendî, spokesperson for the Initiative in the Euphrates Canton, saluted the resistance against the international conspiracy directed against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, stating, "For 26 years, the people have been fighting for the physical freedom of Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] in every corner of Kurdistan. Just as we defeated the ISIS mercenaries in Kobanê, we will also achieve Leader Apo's physical freedom."

Ferzende Munzur, spokesperson for the Initiative, pointed out the significance of the opening coinciding with May 18, Day of Martyrs, stating that the center's aim is to spread Öcalan's ideas among society and to expand the struggle for his freedom.

At the end of the ceremony, Helîme Reşo, mother of the martyrs Barîn, Botan, and Baran, cut the ribbon. After touring the center, participants presented photos of Öcalan and the martyrs to members of the initiative.

The initiative had previously opened centers in Qamishlo and Aleppo.
