First Peace Mothers conference ended

The Peace Mothers 1st Conference ended in Diyarbakýr. The assembly saw the participation of 130 delegates from Diyarbakýr, Ýstanbul, Mersin, Adana, Adýyaman, Aðrý, Van, Hakkari, Þýrnak, Siirt, Batman, Dersim, Mardin and Urfa. Also attending and speaking at the conference were Diyarbakýr MPs Leyla Zana and Nursel Aydoðan, Remziye Erenci, mother of HPG member Mazlum Erenci who lost his life a few days earlier, Sevim Oruç, mother of Halil Ýbrahim Oruç who lost his life when a police shot him during the protest against the YSK's veto decision.

The First Conference ended with some commitments.

Here the document approved by the assembly:

* We are calling the DTK (Democratic Society Congress) to forthwith declare the Autonomy.

* To ensure an honorable peace, we demand the establishment of a Peace Council and we demand to take part in it as Peace Mothers.

* We demand the constitution of a Research Committee and  the surfacing of the consequences of the dirty war in Kurdistan.

* We demand the immediate liberation of ill prisoners and other political prisoners.

* We demand the consideration of Kurdish People's Leader Mr. Abdullah Ocalan as the interlocutor and we ask for the implementation of the protocol.

* We demand the organization of Peace Mothers Conference once a year.

* We demand the organization of the Kurdish National Conference as soon as possible and we demand to be take part in it as Peace Mothers.

* Promoting the Democratic Autonomy, Peace Mothers Conference bases on giving struggle in unison for the freedom of  Kurdish mothers and all the oppressed peoples.
