Viyan Soran, one of the defense force commanders, said that they have implemented new tactics to defend the Tishrin Dam and that they have thwarted the attacks by the Turkish state and gangs.
Gang groups affiliated with the Turkish state continue their attacks to seize the Tishrin Dam. Last weekend, gangs backed by the Turkish state launched attacks on the Tishrin Dam from the villages of Qijlê and Xirbêt Zimala, but the Manbij Military Council, YPJ and SDF fighters responded successfully to the last attacks. The resistance in Tishrin and Qereqozax has been ongoing uninterruptedly for 14 days. The defense forces are fighting against the invasion attacks with great determination.
Tishrin Dam defense force commander Viyan Soran said that they have thwarted the gangs’ attempts with new tactics and added: "Gangs affiliated with the Turkish state attacked from two sides. They launched heavy attacks but they could not advance. This situation left the gangs without anything in their hands, because historical resistance was displayed in Tishrin. We responded strongly to the attack they carried out over the weekend, and there were many dead and wounded. The YPJ, SDF and YPG are thwarting their plans.
They are attacking with the heaviest weapons, but we are responding to the invasion attacks with new tactics. We have clearly shown the invasion gangs affiliated with the Turkish state how we will counter the attacks. We do not accept any attacks targeting the gains of our people and our revolution. We know very well how to resist the enemy’s attacks with new tactics. The Turkish state claims that they have seized the dam, but this is completely false. We are continuing our struggle with the spirit of resistance in the Tishrin Dam."
