KCK (Kurdistan Communities' Union) Executive Council Co-President Cemil Bayık spoke to Ronahi TV and evaluated the Syrian crisis, developments in Rojava, and the war in North Kurdistan. Bayık stated that they no longer fought like they used to, and everyone would see this more clearly soon.
Regarding the Manbij operation, Bayık commemorated Shams Al-Shamal commander Faysal Abu Layla who fell during the operation and said that the only way to immortalize the martyrs was ending the operation with success, which he said would happen very soon.
"EFRİN AND SHAHBA SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE FEDERATION OF NORTH SYRIA"
Bayık stated that the struggle in Rojava was for humanity and would have a great impact upon the world, for the crisis in the Middle East is centering more and more around Rojava. Bayık said that the revolution in Rojava is a great political success despite its shortcomings, and could not yield results unless it becomes integrated in a social revolution which -he said- requires a change in mentality. Emphasizing the need to involve all of north Syria- including Efrin and Shahba- in the Federation of North Syria, Bayık underlined that this federation was not aiming for a state but the formation of a democratic system and the protection of Syria’s unity.
"EVERYWHERE BETWEEN KOBANÊ AND EFRİN MUST BE LIBERATED"
In his response to a question on why the operation for liberating Jarablus has been delayed, Bayık said that the operation in Manbij was a step for the liberation of Jarablus and everywhere between Kobanê and Efrin must be liberated.
Bayık highlighted that Turkey wants to inflict a blow on Rojava revolution by taking control of Jarablus region through its proxy forces, and Turkey’s goal of preventing the union of Kobanê and Efrin would fail just like Turkey’s other policies in Syria. Bayık recalled that Turkey has been supporting and arming proxy jihadist groups in Syria, and emphasized the need for solving Syria’s problems within Syria, not abroad.
AKP-KDP RELATIONS
KCK Executive Council Co-President Bayık touched upon AKP-KDP relations and stated that everyone with a conscience could see that Erdoğan was the enemy of all Kurds in different parts of Kurdistan. Bayık said that those that describe Erdoğan as someone good for Kurdish people was an accomplice in Erdoğan’s crimes.
"WE HAVE MADE SOME CHANGES AND WILL NO LONGER FIGHT LIKE WE USED TO"
Bayık stated that Erdoğan was violating national and international law in North Kurdistan in order to stay in power, and Erdoğan’s plan to cripple the Kurdish movement has turned against him himself. In response to a question on whether there would be negotiations with the AKP, Bayık said that this could not happen now because Erdoğan wants to exterminate Kurdish people.
Lastly, Bayık stated that they no longer fought like they used to and everyone would see this more clearly soon, and called upon Kurdish people to enhance the struggle and strengthen their union.
