At least 92 people killed in Turkish attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria

The Turkish state and its proxies have killed 92 people and injured 43 others during their occupation attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria from November 2024 to early 2025.

The Turkish state and its proxies continue their occupation and genocidal attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria. Between November 2024 and January 2025, these attacks resulted in the deaths of 92 civilians, including journalists.

The balance of these attacks between November 2024 and January 2025 is as follows:

November 2024

28 November: A shelling attack on the village of Xirnata in Afrin wounded Delîl Fewaz Îbo (28).

29 November: In an attack on the village of Helîsa in Afrin, 13-year-old Rosêl Mihemed Xelef and 40-year-old Mihemed Arif Hac Mehmûd were killed. 9-year-old Hisên Mihemed Hesen Xelef and 14-year-old Murad Mihemed Hac Mehmûd were injured.

30 November: The villages of Bênê and Hirbil in the Afrin-Shahba Canton were bombed; Ciwan Mihemed Elî (26) was wounded.

December 2024

1 December: A family returning from th evillage of Nîbreyê in the Hederiyê region of Aleppo was attacked. Two-year-old Xidir Mehlî, three-year-old Zeyneb Murad, 44-year-old Mehlî Mehlî, and 41-year-old Kinco Remo were injured. On the same day, an attack on a vehicle on the Qamişlo-Hesekê highway resulted in the death of Ebdulezîz Selahedîn Şêxo.

2 December: In a Turkish militia-led assassination at the Şîhan Junction in Aleppo, Cemal Mursel and his son Hesen were killed, and Cemal and his daughter were severely injured.

4 December: In Dêrik, a car wash was bombed; Ebdullah Elî El Ehmed and Enes Temam Mihemed, two young men, were killed.

5 December: In an attack on the village of Bozax in Minbic, Zehara Elî El Ceban (23) and her brother Ehmed Elî El Ceban were martyred. In a subsequent attack on the village of Farat in the same area, Nedîme El Hisên El Hemûd (45) was killed, and Seida El Ferc (45) was severely injured.

7 December: During a bombing of Erîma town, 19-year-old Xalid Ridwan was injured. On the same day, attacks on the villages of Cib Mexzûm and Cebla Hemar in Manbij injured multiple people, including Fetûma E Mihemed (23) and Berekat Ebduselam (48).

8 December: A massacre was carried out using a drone in the village of Misterîha, west of Ain Issa. Twelve people, mostly children, were martyred. The names of the victims are as follows: Mihemed Îbrahîm El Îdo (70), Mistefa Îbrahîm El Îdo (50), Îsmaîl Mehmûd El Îdo (12), Hesen Mistefa El Îdo (1), Ebdulqadir Mistefa El Îdo (10), Ruqeya Osman El Îdo (45), Kewser Mistefa El Îdo (17), Nûma Mistefa El Îdo (16), Zemzem Mistefa El Îdo (12), Neda Mihemed El Îdo (15), Tirkiya Mihemed El Îdo (30), Ebîr Ehmed El Feneş (22).

9 December: The villages of Hermel and Mihermela in Zirgan were bombed. One civilian was killed, and two others were injured. On the same day, a drone attack on the village of Xerfan in Manbij killed 10 people.

10 December: In an attack on Manbij, members of the Zenubiya Women's Council, including Qemer El Sûd, Eyşe Ebdulqadir, and Îman, were killed. In a separate attack on the village of Cada in Kobanê, 25-year-old Ebdullah Mehmûd Şêx Elî and 12-year-old Şehed Mehmûd Şêx Elî were martyred. Two other children, Umer Mehmûd Şêx Elî (10) and Mehmûd Mehmûd Şêx Elî (8), were injured.
Social media reported that dozens of patients and the injured in a hospital in Manbij were killed by the militias, but the identities of the martyrs and wounded remain unidentified.

On the same day, in an attack on the village of Sufiyan, west of Girê Spî, 8 people were killed. The names of the victims are as follows: Xelîl Silêman, Wedah Silêman, Meihemd El Abdo, Ebdulkerîm El Abdo, Delal Silêman, Nadiya Silêman, Casim Silêman, and children Husam Silêman.

11 December: In an attack on the Til Cuma village in Gil Temir, one civilian was injured. On the same day, an ambulance in Kobanê was targeted. The driver and one of the injured passengers were martyred, while a civilian and a nurse were severely injured. Another attack on a civilian vehicle at Qerekozak Bridge resulted in the martyrdom of Zahîde Kûsî (60) and the injury of her 8-year-old grandson, Ciwan.

14 December: In Manbij, Cemal El Şêxanî El Nîvî was killed.

19 December: On the Tişrin-Sirrin road, a vehicle carrying journalists Cihan Bilgin and Nazım Daştan was bombed. Both were killed, while the driver, Ezîz Hac Bozan, was severely injured.

21 December: A civilian vehicle was bombed on the Hol-Til Birak road. The attack resulted in the death of Basim Şedadê (a member of the Til Birak City Council), Ebîr El Xilêf (HPC member), and Ehmed El Temî (Kanaat Leaders’ Council member). Bunyan Hesnawî El Cedû, the Chair of the Kanaat Leaders’ Council in Til Birak, was also injured.

22 December: In an attack on the village of Cada in Kobanê, Sewsen Xelef (35) and her 12-year-old daughter Nesîm Xelef were killed.

27 December: A group of ISIS militants launched an attack on the Tirşin People's Municipality in Tebqa Canton. In this attack, security member Mihemed Muslim was killed.

28 December: In the Bilbilê district of Afrin, Dijwar Beto (22) was beheaded and murdered.

31 December: At the border near the village of Qeremox village in Kobanê, Mihemed Nesan Seîd, a young man, was injured.

January 2025

6 January: The village of Cedîda in Ain Issa was bombed with artillery, resulting in the severe injury of Emar Hemed Elî El Hisên (45).

8 January: A convoy of civilians advancing towards the Tişrin Dam to protect their land was bombed. In this attack, Kerem Şihab El Hemed (a member of the Zenubiya Women's Council Coordination), Azad Ferhan Mihemed Hesan, and Zozan Hemo were killed.

On the same day, Girik village in Kobanê was bombed. Ali Şaşo and Mistefa Ebdî were killed. An attack on a vehicle at the Girkê Xeco intersection in Dêrik injured one civilian and killed another.

OTHER CRIMES
The Syria-Afrin Human Rights Organization shared data regarding the crimes committed by the occupying Turkish state against the migration caravan of the people from the Afrin-Shahba Canton.

According to the organization, the violations committed against the people of the canton in December 2024 are as follows:

145 people, including 17 women, were kidnapped.

During forced migration, one citizen died of a heart attack, and two children died due to the cold.

16 people, including three women and children, were tortured.

In the village of Şêxûrêz in Afrin, 30 olive trees were cut down.

Following the occupation of Shehba (on December 2, 2024), the fate of 300 people, mostly women and children, remains unknown.

According to the organization, crimes committed in Manbij, Kobanê, Zirgan, and Ain Issa are similarly severe.

16 people, including five women, were kidnapped.

61 people, including six children and 10 women, were killed.

In addition, the occupying Turkish state and its militias attacked vital service facilities, including wheat silos, sugar factories, power plants, and the Tişrin Dam. These attacks against vital service facilities are considered war crimes under international law.
