While condolence visits continue following the Roboski slaughter which left 35 civilians dead on 28 December, a delegation of artists and intellectuals is reported to pay a visit to the village on 5 January.
In a statement before the visit, the delegation said the followings; “Uludere-Roboski slaughter which killed 35 Kurdish civilians has made hearts bleed and given a deep shock to everyone who defines himself as a human being. We are of the opinion that not any reason could be enough to explain this slaughter. Nobody should remain silent about this massacre so that Turkey can manage to be recovered from the spiral of operation, clash, bloodshed and tears.”
The statement also demanded punishment of the responsible and underlined that the death of 35 people was the pain of all citizens, not only of victim families and the Kurdish people.
The statement continued calling on all peoples of Turkey to share the pains of the Kurdish people. “We are aware that we need to raise our voices from all parts of the country”, added the statement.
