Short film about Mother Taybet awarded a prize
The short film "Seven days and seven nights” dedicated to mother Taybet was awarded a prize. Mother Taybet was shot dead by Turkish police carrying out an operation in Silopi. Her lifeless body was left out on the streets for an entire week.
Turkish state forces murdered Mother Taybet during the "curfew" in Şırnak’s Silopi district in 2015 and did not let her dead body be retrieved from the scene, leaving her dead body out on the street for a whole week.
The short film "Seven days and seven nights", which was shot in remembrance of the slain Kurdish woman and directed by Ali Bozan, was awarded the second prize in fiction category at the Marmaris Short Film Festival.
