The language of cinema in Turkey helps also to call attention to the violations of rights that are mainly witnessed in the Kurdish territory of the country.
Forty films telling stories of search for justice across Turkey and the world are set to be shown at the 4th "Which Human Rights Festival" in Amed/Diyarbakýr from 8 to 12 December. "Right to life" is the main theme of the film festival which will be taking place during Human Rights Week. Presentation of the documentary film on Roboski Massacre, "Do not weep mother, I am in a good place", and a panel discussion titled "Roboski, One Year Later" are among the events included in the festival program.
The festival will also host a documentary film by Veysi Altay, "Murder by State" which starkly tells the 90's, years of murders by so-called "unknown" but actually known assailants. Among the other films included in the festival program are "I wrote the truths; Lice Books" by Ersin Çelik, "What happened to Meral", a film by Melek Özman and Filmmor team focusing on the murder of a woman, and the short-length film "Silence" by Rezan Yeþilbaþ.
The international category of the festival will host documentaries such as "Five Broken Cameras", a documentary on the Palestine of recent years, "Children of Revolution", the story of two brave women and their children in the political environment of 70's, and "We want to know", story of the "Khmer Rouge" period in Cambodia and people's efforts to cope with their trauma.
