"Avec les Kurdes. Ce que les avoir abandonnés dit de nous " (With Kurds. What the fact that we abandoned them tell us) is the latest book by French writer Patrice Franceschi. The book has been published on 2 July by Gallimard editions.
This 60-page book highlights the new Turkish state's invasion attacks against Rojava in October 2019.
Franceschi writes: “We should never have left Rojava. Does this mean anything about what we have become? Without a doubt.
History will remember that on 9 October 2019 we committed a double crime, both moral and political. We abandoned our Kurdish allies to the expansionist and punitive aims of Erdogan, at disregard of our commitments to them in our common fight against Daesh.”
Francheschi therefore asks: “How can we justify such betrayal, which goes against our values as well as our interests? What does it say about our civilization?”
