The 6th edition of Martyr Yekta Herekol Theater Festival has left behind its 4th day. Writer and Director Beşîr Mela Newaf gave a seminar on the development of theatre.
Talking about the history of theater, Newaf said that theatre is a genre of literature and added that the history of art is tied to the history of humanity. "When men return from hunting, they tell their families about their journeys in the form of theatre."
Mela Newaf also talked about Greek theater and how it developed, and pointed out that the Gilgamesh epic is older than the Greek writer Homer's Iliad.
The play “Snow also suffers” by the Hîlala Zêrîn Group was staged. The play was written by Sarya Gulan and Metîn Awr and directed by Sarya Gulan.
Then, the play “Hejar li rastiyê other” by writer Mistefa El Helac was performed. The play was directed by Ehmed Şihade.
10 actors of the Theater Group affiliated with the Manbij Cultural Center, which participated in the festival for the first time, took part in the theater play.
