On the 3rd day of the Martyr Yekta Herekol Theater Festival, the play “Yê ku nayê” was staged at the Mihemed Şêxo Culture and Art Center in Qamishlo. Ebdulcebar Hebîb directed the play, whose script was written by Riyad Ismet. The play, in Kurdish, talks about immigration. Two people leave their home and go to another country. The play follows what happened to them and the difficulties that migrants and refugees face in the new country.

The main theme of the theater is hope and how to overcome obstacles. It talks about finding a solution instead of following negative thinking, falling into depression and feeling psychological failure.

Seminar

After the play, theater actor Agîn Ronî gave a seminar titled "The role of theater in preserving peoples' culture". The actor said: "Culture and art consist of consciousness, morality, language, politics and economy. The impact of theater on society is big.”

Ronî pointed out that the government uses art to realize its own interests, but on the contrary, people create art to educate society and strengthen solidarity. “The art in the region was a bit weak and many plays have been translated from other languages so far. Instead, we have to write plays ourselves. And that is what we are doing.”
