Kurdish Culture Conference ends with new projects

Kurdish Culture Art and Literature Conference, organized by DTK in Diyarbakýr with 200 delegates, ended yesterday. Interesting sessions took place and delegates were happy with the results.

In the Conference Final Declaration published after the conference, all Kurdish parties were called to come together and to start working for the meeting of international Kurdish conference.

The decisions on the conference final declaration are as follows;

1- The conference delegation concluded that there is a need for international unity for Kurdish culture and freedom. With this aim; all political Kurdish parties were called to make a move to practice the international Kurdish conference forthwith.

2- The conference delegation pointed to the varicolored structure of Kurdish society and made a call for not imposing monochromatism on Kurdish society and for showing the same sensibility on the unity of Kurdish language.

3-  The conference concluded that Kurdish culture is under the pressure of dominant powers, which are now more dominant than ever. And as a consequence, Kurdish culture is facing native attacks. With this aim; the decision is to make a call to all intellectuals in Kurdistan to combine the workings and discussions of these regional and geographic attacks and pressures.

4- Our conference supports the democratic solution on four sides of Kurdistan, regarding the suggestions and approaches of Abdullah Öcalan as significant and calling Turkish authorities to take the necessary steps for the application of this solution. Welcoming the achievements in South Kurdistan our conference concluded that these achievements must be preserved as national achievements.

5- Our conference approved the opening of a culture, art and literature institution in international sense and arrived at the consensus that all personnel and executives will be chosen within all Kurdistan. In this direction, a multilingual internet city should be created, where all academicians can publish their productions.

6- Independent conferences must be organized in different areas of culture, art and literature.

7-  Our conference gives its support to the language campaign started by DTK and demands the governments of dominant countries to take the necessary steps for Kurdish to gain recognition as official training language.

8- Our conference has decided on creation of a committee to follow the discussions and developments and starting preparations for the next conference. And with this aim, it decided the declaration of the city that next conference will take place as the Capital of Cultures. Accordingly; it decided on putting Hewler on the agenda as the capital of cultures next year.

9- Our conference demands the publishing of the discussions and workings here to be published as a book.

10- Our conference decided on development of the projects concerning children.

The conference ended with the closing speech of DTK Co-Chair Ahmet Türk.
