For 10 years, the festival has been organised jointly by the Amara Women's Assembly, the Kurdish Democratic Society Centre and the Teşi Cultural Centre with the aim of promoting Kurdish culture and keeping Kurdish identity alive.
The opening concert of the festival will be held in Stockholm (Hågelbyvägen 5-Tumba) on Sunday 1 January.
Many artists and groups from Kurdistan and Scandinavia will participate in the concert. Among the artists who will take the stage are Ayfer Düztaş, Çarnewa, Nahid Hewrami, Rizgar Hewrami, Şerif Omerî and Yarsan Group.
In addition, the Teşi Group will add colour to the event with traditional dance performances, an important part of Kurdish culture.
As part of the festival, a special event for children will be held on 31 August. This event, organised by Zarok Ma, will take place at Gamlastan at 16.30. The organising team called on Kurdish families to bring their children in Kurdish clothes.
Many writers, politicians, journalists and academics are expected to attend the event. The organisers of the festival invite everyone interested in Kurdish culture to the event.
