The conference organized by the Kurdish Language Platform (created by Kurdish political parties coming together) titled "Our language is our identity, our language is our existence" is underway in the Sur district.
Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Berdan Öztürk and Batman Municipality co-mayor Mehmet Demir attended the conference held to mark 21 February, International Mother Language Day.
Kurdish Language Platform Spokesperson Şerefxan Cizirî emphasized the importance of language work and added that every concrete step to be taken is very important for the future of the Kurdish language.
Platform member Hayrettin Altun said that the Kirmanckî dialect faces the danger of extinction and called for actions to be taken.
DBP Amed Provincial executives Hayrettin Altun will make a presentation titled "Language and Education", KKP chair Sinan Çiftyürek will speak on "Language and People", Platform Spokesperson Şerefxan Cizîrî on "Language and Intellectuality", and PSK's Hasan Dağtekin on "Language and Formality".
