Turkish actor Tuncel Kurtiz has on Friday. He was 77.

Tuncel Kurtiz was born in 1936 in İzmit. He graduated from İstanbul University's English Language and Literature department and started acting in 1956 with Dormen Theatre.

Kurtiz became friend of Kurdish director Yılmaz Güney and the two worked together on the films Umut and Duvar.

He is also known as director, producer and scenarist.
