The 8th Kurdish Culture Festival in Brussels began with a cultural walk on 15 August.
The 8th Kurdish Culture Festival has begun in Brussels. The festival, which will last until Sunday, will feature Kurdish artists and folklore groups, as well as food and local costumes.
The festival, which began with a traditional cultural walk accompanied by drums and zurna in Place de Bourse Square, also saluted the 15 August Initiative on its 40th anniversary.
Speaking at the event, Zübeyde Zümrüt from the Kurdish Women's Movement said: "If we are celebrating this festival today, it is also thanks to the 15 August Initiative and the PKK. Thanks to that Initiative, we are living our culture and language."
The artists and groups that will be on stage at the event are: "Yılmaz Güney Music Group, Hozan Dino, Xelil Sadiki, Koma Jordaw, Koma Folklor Zarokan, Koma Miran, Hozan Terzi, Divana dengbeje, Hozan Şemdin, Evde Silopi, Hozan Xecen, Hozan Reber, Hozan Said, Serhed Gruba Erbane, Hozan Sultan Botan, Koma Sterk, Pel music, Koma Çar Newa."
