Baqî Xido Culture and Art Center and Hîlala Zêrîn Women's Culture and Art Movement organized the 7th Children's Culture and Art Festival in Kobanê with the slogan "Let's overcome isolation with our culture and art as children of fire and sun. Let's reclaim our leadership." The festival opened on Saturday and will continue today.

Dozens of children from the Euphrates Canton attended the festival. Banners reading "Bê Serok jiyan nabe" and "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" were hung in the hall.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, Fatma Xelîl, the director of the Euphrates Canton Hîlala Zêrîn Movement, said: "The enemy wants to massacre our people, our youth and our children. However, we will always disrupt the plans of this enemy with our activities. The enemy can never break our will. The Kurdish people are known for their art, theater, poetry and language."

Xelîl added: "The aim of this festival is to revive the spirit of children by adhering to these cultural values. Just as mothers protect their cultural heritage in a natural society, our children will do the same."

The art groups participating in the festival were all very successfull. The music groups Şehit Mizgîn, Esmer, Vejîn, Çiyayên Kurmênc and Kulîlkên Çand received great acclaim for their performances.

In addition, the Şehit Şîlan halay group and the Şehit Mistefa theater group added color to the festival with their theater performances.
