2nd Literature Festival continues in Raqqa

The second day of the 2nd Literature Festival held in Raqqa drew attention to the history of Kurdish literature and the role of criticism in the development of literature.

The 2nd Literature Festival, organized in Raqqa with the slogan "Literature with the pens of Syria", continues on its second day.

The festival was held in the Raqqa Cultural Center hall. Members of the Cultural Board of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, members of the Cultural Board of the Raqqa Canton, Deputy co-chair of the Executive Council Gebraîl Şemûn, Representatives of the Executive Council of the Canton, the Union of Intellectuals of the Canton, poets, writers and many literature lovers attended.

On the second day of the festival, Kurdish poet and researcher Salihê Heydo gave a seminar on the history of Kurdish literature and its connections with folklore. Heydo reminded that Kurdish literature has played an important role in the strengthening of national ideas and cultural knowledge throughout the ages.

After the participants read Kurdish, Arabic and Syriac poems, the Fırat Eter music group performed their songs.

Later, writers Rashid Ebas and Munir El Hafiz gave a seminar on the role of criticism in the development of writing, cultural experience and literature.

The festival ends today with the awards ceremony.
