YPJ (Women's Defense Units) Shengal forces have held a two-day meeting to assess the current situation.

YPJ-Shengal has changed its name on the basis of a decision to perform its activities under YJÊ (Yekinêyen Jinên Êzidxan, Êzidxan Women's Units) from now on.

A statement released after the meeting emphasized that YPJ-Shengal has reached a certain level in terms of quality and quantity, and is capable to undertake the duty of defending not only Shengal women but all Êzidî women and the Êzidxan (Êzidî Land).
