Persistent operations by YPG/YPJ continue in Hesekê

YPG Press Office has reported in a written statement that persistent military operations conducted by combined forces of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) and the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) continue to confront the ISIS gangs attempting occupation efforts near the city of Hasakah, Rojava.

In south Hasakah, YPG/YPJ forces last night continued to advance a distinct operation against ISIS-occupied location earlier controlled by Syrian regime forces; during this move numerous strategic areas were liberated from ISIS forces.

According to the statement, the Ahliya and International Schools as well as gas station were secured from ISIS elements, while detailed outcomes of the stated operation are not verified due to ongoing fighting in the region.

In the morning hours of today, July 14, ISIS-affiliated attackers carried out an assault on the village of Shergirat, Suluk countryside, Tal Abyad. The attempt was started after the gang groups deployed an explosive-laden vehicle, fierce engagements were erupted with the assailants. The attackers were finally forced to flee the location, while their casualty numbers were not immediately verified.

YPG Press Office stated that one combatant who had a major role for the defeat of the gangs' attack, fought well on the fields of the battle and was martyred in action.
