The YPJ General Command, in a written statement on the occasion of 8 March, International Working Women's Day, said: "Women's history has taken new steps from the resistance of Clara to the struggle of Sara."

The statement said: "On March 8, which became meaningful with its resistance and organization every year, the Rojava Revolution brought gains to Syrian components, led by women, with 9 years of labor and paid prices. With the slogans 'our resistance is freedom, our struggle is victory' we celebrate 8 March this year and say that these are the achievements of the March 8 spirit. A heroic resistance was carried out against ISIS mercenaries with their patriarchal mentality. With the soul of our comrades Ronahî, Zîn, Sara, Amara, Dilovan, we reiterate our promise to raise our women's struggle for freedom with the spirit of Aqide, mother and Hevrin.

We wish happy 8 March to our fighters in Syria, the Middle East and women all over the world, and remember our belief in the organization of the women's revolution."
