Women's organizations in North East Syria protest the murder of journalist Menal Salih El-Mizel

Women's organizations protested the murder of journalist Menal Salih El-Mizel, a member of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council Women's Committee. In their statement, the women called for the murderers to be found as soon as possible and brought to account.

Kongra Star Women's Justice Council in Aleppo's Şêxmeqsûd neighbourhood, Zenûbiya Women's Community in Raqqa, and women's organizations in Manbij and Deir ez-Zor protested the murder of journalist Menal Salih Al-Mizel, a member of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council Women's Committee.

Aleppo

Members of the Women's Justice Council and Kongra Star Coordination gathered in front of the Women's Justice Center in the neighbourhood of Şêxmeqsûd. Fatima Hesen, executive member of the Women's Justice Council, read the statement and said that this cruel murder go beyond any moral and human values.

Kongra Star Women's Justice Council called on international women's organizations around the world to fulfil their duties to counter crimes against women.

Raqqa

The Raqqa Zenûbiya Women's Community Office called for the Internal Security Forces and the Deir ez-Zor Social Justice Court to impose heavy sentences on the killers of journalist Menal Salih al-Mizel.

Zehre Şelaş, spokesperson of the Social Justice Committee of the Raqqa Zenûbiya Women's Community Office, read the statement in front of the headquarters building.

Zehre Şelaş condemned femicides and said: "The women's liberation and the courageous women who form the basis of the Autonomous Administration project are being targeted."

The women called on the Council of Social Justice Court and the Internal Security Forces to find the killers and bring them to justice.

Manbij

The offices of the Zenûbiya Community in Manbij and Deir ez-Zor condemned the murder of journalist Menal Salih al-Mizel in their statements.

Fadiye Rasûl, executive member of the Raqqa Zenûbiya Women's Community, underlined that the killers should be found and punished as soon as possible.

Deir ez-Zor

The statement made by the Women's Committee in Deir ez-Zor was read by the executive member of the committee, Lîna Silêman.

The statement said that women are victims of wrong social traditions and the harsh and backward mentality of war.

The women called on everyone to do their part so that justice can be served.
