Raqqa and Tabqa women's executives presented their event plan for 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The women members of the Raqqa Civil Council and the representatives of Tabqa Women Administration announced the activities to be carried out to mark 25 November International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The statement read by Rihab Muhammed, member of Tebqa Women's Management, said: “We want to call out to women from all over the world from Itihat University, where Yazidi women were tortured by ISIS mercenaries. Every single corner of this area witnessed the massacre of women.
All world and human rights organizations should know that the violence of ISIS and al-Nusra mercenaries against women represents the most brutal oppression. Our liberation from this persecution has been achieved thanks to the martyrs.
Now the Turkish state is threatening our security and peace, carrying out crimes against humanity, kidnapping and torturing women. Turkey wants to invade our lands.
The Turkish state is trying to complete what ISIS was prevented from completing. The Turkish state, obviously at the root of the Syrian crisis, has deployed its forces on the borders of North and East Syria today.”
The statement continued: “On this basis, as Raqqa and Tabqa women, we declare our plan of action organised together with the women's institutions. Our actions will include: marches in the liberated regions (Raqqa, Tabqa and Deir- Ez-zor), special academies will be opened for women, leaflets will be distributed and sapling planting activities will be carried out. In addition, press statements will be held by war veterans, women in military forces will be visited, seminars on child marriage and polygamy issues will be organised, rallies for women abducted by the invaders will be held as well as marches organised by young women."
