The peoples of the Middle East have embraced Öcalan’s ideology. But this has threatened the hegemonic system’s interests, so Öcalan was imprisoned in a conspiracy carried out by leaders of the capitalist system. The Turkish state started to impose a strict isolation against Öcalan as part of this conspiracy, and continues to prevent him from meeting with his family or lawyers.
Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan has stated many times in his books that the hegemonic system was built upon the enslavement of women and that the people’s freedom is possible through women’s freedom. As such he fought for women’s freedom and continues to do so.
Women from Afrin in Shehba spoke to ANHA and said they will continue to fight for Öcalan’s freedom.
Fatme Beko (70) from the Jeleme village of the Jindirese district said she met Öcalan’s ideas in the ‘80s and added: “Because Öcalan’s ideas aim for freedom and emancipation from the capitalist system, the peoples of the Middle East have embraced them.”
On the international conspiracy, Mother Fatma said: “The conspiracy was voided in the first day. Because peoples embraced Öcalan’s ideas and marched on.”
Emîne Reshîd, mother of a fighter in the Kurdish Freedom Movement, is from the Dêrsewan village of the Sherawa district. Mother Emîne has known Öcalan’s ideas for over 30 years. She is still loyal to them, and said the following on her loyalty: “Because Öcalan has been fighting so women can have all their rights, so they can participate in all areas of life, so they can be free from effects of patriarchal mindset and capitalism.”
Emîne Reshîd continued: “The Turkish state’s policies against Öcalan are geared towards stopping the spread of his ideas. Because the Turkish state knows that the people will continue to fight for Öcalan’s freedom.”
