TJK-E calls for participation in women's festivals in Germany, France and Switzerland

The Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe (TJK-E) called for participation in women's festivals to be held in Germany, France and Switzerland.

In a written statement on Thursday, the Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe (TJK-E) called on women to participate in the Zilan Women's Festival in Germany on June 17, the Rojbin Women's Festival in France on June 18, and the Sakine Cansiz Women's Festival in Switzerland on June 25.

The TJK-E statement is as follows:

“Following the popular uprisings that followed the murder of Mahsa Amini by the morality police in Rojhilat (Iranian Kurdistan) in 2022, the motto "Jin Jiyan Azadî" (Woman, Life, Freedom), the freedom philosophy of Kurdish women, became universal and paved the way to solidarity among women all over the world. To protest the false freedom that the system imposes on women, women's organizations came up with their own line of struggle and gained a new impetus in the war against capitalist modernity. In the first quarter of the 21st century, the struggle of women proved that their universal philosophy played a leading role in obtaining freedom, a classless society and a democratic life for all peoples.

Governments seeking to impose their own systems and to design societies through policies of massacre, genocide, marginalization and war, have been trying to divide and eliminate the organized struggle of Kurdish women. That’s indeed why our friend Nagihan Akarsel, the power of whose pen put fear in hearts, was assassinated in Sulaymaniyah. They suppose that they can intimidate and thus force women to take a step back through a vicious war. This is again why the targeted ideological struggle of Kurdish women in the person of Evin Goyi by carrying out the 2nd Paris massacre on the 10th anniversary of the first Paris massacre.

We organize based on women's liberation ideology and the philosophy of ‘Jin Jiyan Azadi’ to fight all vicious policies of the system and to build a free society by embracing the legacy of our martyrs.

We are coming together with all women's organizations with the Zilan Women's Festival in Germany on June 17, the Rojbin Women's Festival in France on June 18, and the Sakine Cansız Women's Festival in Switzerland on June 25. We dedicate this year’s festivals to our revolutionary friend Evin Goyi, who will always inspire us with her contributions to women's struggle.

We call on Kurdish women living in Europe, democratic institutions and our friends to participate in our festivals and to raise the voice of freedom by embracing the philosophy of 'Jin Jiyan Azadi', which has already become universal.”
