Michaela Boyle said: “It is not easy for victims of domestic violence and abuse to speak out as many live in fear every single day and this app developed by the Cithrah Foundation will help them."
Boyle continued: “The App which can be downloaded on any phone will allow users to record the date and time incident occurred, who was present and what damage was done. Photos, text messages and videos can also be stored."
The Sinn Féin MLA said: “In order to protect users any information inputted will disappear from the phone and be stored remotely online.
I would encourage anyone in an abusive relationship to contact the Cithrah Foundation about downloading the app.
No-one should suffer in silence. Whether the abuse is physical or emotional, there are organisations, who are just a phone call away and ready to help.”
