'Society can't be liberated if women are not free'
Rosa Women’s Association President Suzan Işbilen said: "The struggle we are carrying out under the leadership of women is the struggle to break the isolation imposed on women, peoples, beliefs, youth and all other segments and to build social freedom. The wars waged by nation-state regimes continue to commit crimes against humanity, against peoples and women. The genocide that has been ongoing in Palestine since 7 October 2023, the civil war that has been ongoing in Syria since 2011, and the ongoing wars in Ukraine have all harmed the peoples the most."
The association's president continued: "Society can't be liberated if women are not free. We believe that the solution to the ongoing wars is a democratic nation, and we are fighting for this politically. The struggle we carry out as Kurdish women and the alliances we form are among the most important practices that organize the solution."
The address for a solution is Imrali
Suzan Işbilen said: "We find the statement of Kurdish people’s leader Mr. Abdullah Öcalan very important. The address for a solution is Imrali. We call on the government to implement both domestic and international law, and to take responsibility for the establishment of honorable peace and freedom.
We call on all women in Turkey and Kurdistan who share the common feeling, belief and claim to join the march for a democratic solution and freedom that started on Monday. We raise our voices as women to express that peace is a vital and urgent need more than ever in the Middle East and in our country. We invite all women to respond to our call for honorable peace and freedom."
