The common goal of the first women festival organised by the women's coordination of Tabqa, Deir Ez-zor, Raqqa and Manbij is for women living in the Euphrates region to protect their heritage.
Women will have the opportunity to participate in the festival individually and as groups and exhibiting their work.
Within the framework of the festival preparations, members of the women's coordination of Tabqa, Deir Ez-zor, Raqqa and Manbij came together at the Autonomous Administration Raqqa office to discuss about the festival.
According to the information given by the festival preparation committee, women from many fields and age groups will exhibit their work during the festival.
Kobanê children's folklore group, Tabqa women's music and folklore group, Deir Ez-zor children's folklore group, Manbij Turkmen children's music, folklore and theater group, Til Hemîs children's music group will revive the cultural heritage of the people of the Euphrates region with an event they will organize in Raqqa.
During the festival, local costumes and historical symbols of the region will also be shown.
Fehîme Casim, a member of Raqqa women's coordination, talked to ANHA about the festival. “One of the aims of this festival is embracing the voice and heritage of women. Again, this festival is the first of its type. We want to defend and show the women's heritage ignored by many groups and the Syrian government for too long.”
The women's coordination festival preparation committee said that the festival will be held on Sunday, 25 October.
